Favourite beaches
1
Hope Cove – our closest beach, less than two miles away, traditional fishing village, fabulous sunsets
North Sands – beautiful backdrop, ideal place to relax and swim during low tide, dog friendly, a paddle boarding favourite, an easy 15 minute walk along Cliff Road from Salcombe
South Sands – sandy cove in low tide, facilities for canoeing, windsurfing and diving, no parking: the most fun way of getting there is taking the passenger ferry from Whitestrand Quay in Salcombe
South Milton Sands – sandy National Trust beach, wonderful for the children to splash around in the clear shallow waters at low tide, nearby Thurlestone beach can be a little quieter at peak times
Bigbury and Bantham – vast stretch of sandy beach with the iconic Burgh Island to walk to during low tides, surf tuition available
